Job Description: Delivery Analyst

Department: Technology & Digital — Digital Office
Reports to: Delivery Manager / Digital Office Lead

Role Overview

The Digital Office runs delivery governance across Simpaisa's engineering organisation — tracking what's in flight, managing gate readiness for corridor launches, and ensuring the CDO has accurate visibility into portfolio health at all times.

The Delivery Analyst is the person who makes that visibility possible. You own the data behind delivery: sprint metrics, milestone tracking, gate readiness status across the G0–G5 pipeline, budget tracking, and risk registers. Your outputs directly inform what the Delivery Manager escalates, what the CDO reports to the ELT, and whether a corridor launch review proceeds on schedule.

This is not a passive reporting role. A Delivery Analyst who waits for data to arrive is not useful. The role requires proactive investigation — identifying discrepancies between what squads are reporting and what the Jira data shows, spotting risks before they become escalations, and surfacing delivery health trends that nobody else has noticed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the delivery portfolio view: sprint progress, cycle velocity, milestone status, gate readiness (G1–G5) across all active initiatives.

  • Produce weekly delivery status reports for the CDO Leadership Team — accurate, concise, and actionable.

  • Track corridor launch readiness across the Global Network expansion pipeline: which initiatives are approaching G3/G4, what artefacts are missing, what risks exist.

  • Monitor squad Jira boards: identify stories without acceptance criteria, epics without fund flow diagrams, cycles at risk of slipping. Flag to Delivery Manager.

  • Maintain the risk register: log risks, track mitigations, and follow up on owners to ensure risks don't sit unmanaged.

  • Support budget tracking for the CDO portfolio: actual vs. planned spend, contractor hours, headcount against approved positions.

  • Facilitate specific meetings as directed by the Delivery Manager: prepare agendas, distribute pre-read, capture decisions and action items.

  • Contribute to SDLC gate checks: verify that initiatives have completed the required artefacts before progressing to the next phase.

  • Maintain Confluence documentation for delivery processes, templates, and governance artefacts.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Data analysis and reporting: Ability to work with project data from Jira, extract meaningful insights, and present them clearly. Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for tracking and analysis.

  • Jira: Practical experience with Jira — query writing, dashboard creation, board management, and sprint reporting. Not just using it, but using it well.

  • Confluence: Experience maintaining structured documentation in Confluence. Ability to keep a living document accurate and well-organised.

  • Delivery understanding: Enough knowledge of software delivery to recognise when a sprint report doesn't match reality. Knows what a Definition of Done means and why it matters.

  • Attention to detail: Delivery data that is wrong is worse than no data. Accuracy is the minimum standard.

  • Communication: Clear written communication for status reports. Ability to raise a risk concisely without causing unnecessary alarm.

  • Payments/fintech (preferred): Familiarity with payment operations or corridor-based delivery is a useful advantage.

General Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in project support, delivery analysis, or PMO functions.

  • Demonstrated experience using Jira and Confluence in a software delivery context.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary benchmarked to your local market.

  • Direct involvement in delivery governance for a multi-market fintech — every corridor launch you track has real commercial consequences.

  • Clear career path into Delivery Manager or Digital Office Lead.

  • Flexible hybrid working.
