Digital Coach¶
Job Title: Digital Coach¶
Department: Digital Office Tribe¶
Reports to: Chief Digital Officer¶
Role Overview:¶
We are seeking an experienced Digital Coach with a deep understanding of overall business needs and strategic objectives of the organisation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for agile coaching, delivery methodology ownership, and continuous improvement across Simpaisa Holdings' product and engineering teams. This role is central to embedding and sustaining the organisation's Kanban-based, 10-day delivery cycle methodology - a model that operates without traditional Scrum Masters, instead empowering teams through coaching, facilitation, and capability building. Strong expertise in lean-agile delivery practices and people development, ensuring teams deliver high-quality outcomes at pace, is essential. Experience coaching within payments, fintech, or regulated environments is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:¶
- Coach and mentor product and engineering teams on Simpaisa Holdings' Kanban-based delivery methodology, including 10-day delivery cycles, flow management, WIP limits, and continuous improvement practices.
- Facilitate team ceremonies and rituals - stand-ups, retrospectives, planning sessions, and cross-team synchronisation - ensuring they are effective and time-efficient.
- Foster a strong culture of delivery excellence and collaboration across distributed teams in Dubai and Karachi, encouraging knowledge sharing and best practice adoption.
- Organise and facilitate workshops, training sessions, and communities of practice to promote learning, innovation, and delivery maturity.
- Ensure teams are aligned with the organisation's delivery standards, architectural vision, and quality expectations within their domain, including compliance with PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, and regulatory requirements.
- Work with product managers, engineering leads, and the Digital Office to ensure teams are effectively structured, capacity is well managed, and delivery commitments are met.
- Identify and address delivery impediments, team dynamics issues, and process bottlenecks in a supportive and constructive manner.
- Track and report on delivery metrics - cycle time, throughput, lead time, flow efficiency - using these to drive data-informed improvement.
- Contribute to the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, ensuring they integrate smoothly into the team, the delivery methodology, and the organisation.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in agile, lean, and delivery practices, and adapt the methodology to the evolving needs of a cross-border payments fintech.
- Advocate for team health, sustainable pace, and continuous improvement within the broader organisation.
Required Skills and Experience:¶
- Agile & Lean Delivery: Deep practical expertise in Kanban, lean delivery, and flow-based methods. Understanding of how agile principles apply in a model without traditional Scrum Masters. Experience with short delivery cycles and continuous delivery practices.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear guidance, facilitation, and feedback to teams and leadership.
- Strategy and Planning: Ability to contribute to the development of delivery capability and team maturity aligned with organisational needs. Strong organisational skills for managing coaching activities across multiple teams.
- Leadership & Influence Skills: Proven leadership skills to motivate, guide, and develop individuals and teams without direct authority - coaching through influence rather than hierarchy.
- Problem-solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to identify delivery impediments, team dynamics issues, and process inefficiencies, and to propose practical solutions.
- Delivery Methodology Expertise: Deep knowledge of Kanban, lean product delivery, flow metrics, and continuous improvement frameworks. Experience designing and embedding delivery methodologies in technology organisations. Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
- People Development Skills: Proven experience in coaching, mentoring, and building delivery capability in product and engineering teams.
- Payments/Fintech Context: Understanding of the delivery challenges specific to payments and fintech - regulatory constraints, compliance gates, partner dependencies, and the need for high reliability in financial transaction processing.
General Requirements for the Role:¶
- Bachelor's Degree in related field: A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
- 8+ years of experience in agile coaching or delivery leadership: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in agile coaching, delivery management, or a related discipline, with at least 2 years in fintech, payments, or regulated environments.
- Experience coaching distributed teams: Demonstrated experience in coaching and developing teams across multiple locations and time zones.
- Proven track record of delivery improvement: A verifiable history of improving team delivery performance, embedding lean-agile practices, and building self-organising teams.
- Certification: Relevant agile or coaching certifications (e.g., ICAgile, Kanban University, or equivalent) are desirable but not mandatory - practical experience is valued above credentials.
Benefits and Perks:¶
- Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
- Opportunity to shape the delivery culture of a rapidly growing cross-border payments fintech, working closely with senior leadership.
- Professional development and training opportunities, including industry certifications.
- Inclusive company culture that values diversity and innovation.
