Role Overview:¶
We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager with a deep understanding of overall business needs and strategic objectives of the organisation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the strategy, roadmap, and execution of Simpaisa Holdings' remittance product, with a particular focus on corridor expansion into Saudi Arabia, the broader MENA region, and Central Asia. This encompasses defining the product vision for cross-border payment corridors, Pay-In and Pay-Out experiences, FX pricing models, and partner integration strategies. Strong expertise in payments product management, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of product enhancements and new corridor launches, is essential. Expertise in agile methodologies, particularly in managing product backlogs and working with engineering teams, is also preferable.
Key Responsibilities:¶
- Lead and manage the remittance product backlog, prioritising features, corridor launches, and enhancements based on user needs, market opportunity, and business value.
- Develop and maintain the product roadmap for corridor expansion into Saudi Arabia, MENA, and Central Asian markets, in alignment with the overall business and technology strategy.
- Define product requirements for new remittance corridors, including Pay-In methods, Pay-Out options, FX pricing, compliance screening, and partner integrations for each target market.
- Work closely with Solution Engineering teams to ensure the product is built and maintained to high standards, providing clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with commercial, compliance, and operations teams to ensure product-market fit and regulatory alignment across DFSA (Dubai) and SBP (Pakistan) jurisdictions, as well as destination-country regulatory requirements.
- Monitor product performance metrics including transaction volumes, corridor utilisation, conversion rates, FX margins, and customer satisfaction, identifying areas for improvement.
- Manage stakeholder communication effectively, keeping leadership, commercial teams, and banking partners informed on product updates, corridor launch plans, and performance.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis for target remittance corridors, understanding sender demographics, corridor economics, and competitive pricing.
- Ensure successful delivery of product features and corridor launches within defined scope and timelines, working within Simpaisa Holdings' Kanban-based delivery methodology.
- Manage product-related risks, issues, and dependencies, proactively identifying and addressing regulatory, commercial, and technical blockers.
- Own the relationship with corridor banking partners and mobile money operators from a product perspective, ensuring integration requirements are clearly defined and met.
Required Skills and Experience:¶
- Agile: Deep understanding and practical application of agile frameworks for backlog management and working with development teams, with experience in Kanban and lean product delivery.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate product vision, corridor strategy, and requirements clearly to diverse audiences including engineering, commercial, compliance, and executive teams.
- Strategy and Planning: Ability to develop and implement strategic product roadmaps for remittance corridor expansion that align with broader business objectives and market opportunity. Strong planning and organisational skills to manage product backlogs and corridor launches effectively.
- Leadership & Influence Skills: Proven ability to influence and guide engineering teams, commercial partners, and stakeholders towards a common product vision for cross-border payments.
- Problem-solving and Analytical Skills: Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills to understand sender/receiver needs, identify corridor opportunities, analyse transaction economics, and propose solutions.
- Payments Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of cross-border payments, remittance corridors, FX management, Pay-In/Pay-Out methods, merchant acquiring, AML/CTF compliance requirements, and settlement processes. Experience with corridor economics, pricing models, and partner management.
- Regulatory Awareness: Understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to remittance services, including DFSA (Dubai), SBP (Pakistan), and destination-country requirements in Saudi Arabia, MENA, and Central Asia.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, including engineering, commercial, compliance, operations, and banking partner teams.
General Requirements for the Role:¶
- Bachelor's Degree in related field: A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
- 8+ years of experience in product management: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in managing technology products, with at least 3 years in payments, remittances, or fintech.
- Experience working with engineering teams: Demonstrated experience in collaborating effectively with software engineering teams in an agile environment.
- Proven track record of successful product delivery: A verifiable history of successfully launching and managing fintech or payments products, including corridor expansions or new market launches.
- Regional market knowledge: Understanding of MENA and/or South Asian remittance markets, sender demographics, and regulatory landscapes is highly desirable.
